Poppy Field the label is dedicated to honoring our environment. In order to pursue the brand’s engagement towards the environment’s preservation, materials are chosen to produce its clothing. It seems central for us to not only advocate for our values but also act accordingly.
Here are some of the materials we use and love
These dramatic, life-altering events make the ongoing search for a more sustainable way of life more vital than ever before.
We live in a very fragile world and Mother Nature is spinning out of control as far-reaching environmental changes become more extreme. The fashion industry recognizes it is imperative we protect our planet, beginning at the source.
Creating more ethically produced products is just a beginning. LENZING™ ECOVERO™ Viscose is one such product. Boutique fashion houses, like Poppy Field the label, are playing a significant role in ensuring their limited collections are truly environmentally friendly, and yes, sustainable.....from the field to the showroom to your closet.

- Reduced waste
- Biodegradable
- Less dye
- Produced in a closed loop
- Easy to wash
- Cruelty-free
But also Hypoallergenic, anti-static, stretch resistant, thermo-regulating and incredibly durable !
We have been substituting BCI cotton with organic cotton since 2022.
From now on, from the SS23 collection onwards, all our cotton products will be organic cotton.
We will be GOTS certified as of January 1st 2023. You will find labels on our products that remind you of our commitment to environmental responsibility.
To be labeled GOTS "organic", textile products must contain a minimum of 95% certified organic fibers
It is the organic certification by a certification body such as Ecocert, which allows to display the mention "organic textile" associated with the GOTS logo. The marketed products are thus controlled as being in conformity with the GOTS specifications, a guarantee throughout the chain of production up to the consumer.
Investing in better cotton
Poppy used Cotton until the AW22 collection, however, due to research and development, BCI will be completely abandoned in January 2023 in favor of GOTS cotton
A global non-profit organization, BCI is the largest sustainability program in the world.
In just over ten years, BCI has educated millions of farmers around the world, providing training on sustainable farming practices.
Poppy Field the label only uses cotton displaying the BCI “On-Product Mark” logo on its package. This means you are purchasing a mainly-cotton product from a retailer brand committed to sourcing more sustainable, better cotton and investing in BCI farmers.
By purchasing one of our garments displaying the BCI label, our customers are also supporting the BCI initiative.
Where style meets durability
Linen is an amazing fabric: it is not only wonderful to wear, but also one of the most durable!
Linen is one of the most biodegradable and stylish fabrics in fashion history. It is strong, naturally resistant to mites and made from flax plant fibers, it is fully biodegradable.
- Less water required
- Little waste
- Fewer pesticides, herbicides and fungicides than cotton
- Long-lasting durability
Poppy Field the label has therefore decided to design the SS22 collection with this material which responds to the brand’s values.
Light. Floaty. Comfortable.
Krinkle linen is made from a wonderful blend of hemp and cotton with the positive aspects of both.
Highly absorbent and a great conductor of heat, this fabric has long been cherished for its breathability and soft, classy look.
Just like regular linen, Krinkle linen is a highly durable fabric that does not need to be ironed, and more than twice as strong as cotton.
Poppy Field is incorporating RAMIE into the upcoming SS23 collection. We strive to bring you the most respectful materials year after year.
Ramie fiber is lustrous, silk-like and sometimes mistaken for linen. Extremely absorbent, much more so than cotton, ramie fabric breathes well and makes a comfortable garment for hot, humid summers. It is a very sustainable fiber source, making it a wonderful eco-friendly alternative to synthetic fibers.
At Poppy Field the label our goal is to create garments that are both elegant and sustainable. That is why we choose our fabrics with great care to offer our customers the best possible experience
Soft & Sustainable : Meet RWS.
Respect for the environment, the animals, our customers and staff is extremely important to Poppy Field the label. We use only recycled and “ethical wool”, which means ALL stages of the supply chain, from the farm to the brand must be certified Responsible Wool Standard.
Poppy’s Parisian label has designed most of its models to contain mohair enabling us to meet the requirements of the Sustainable Mohair Production guidelines. Our Parisian label is also innovating new products by creating a collection of sweaters made in Belgium from production scraps.
The wool factory has also signed the Greenpeace Detox commitment, working together with other industry brands to eliminate hazardous chemicals used in the production of clothing.
Protecting Animal Welfare.
Poppy Field the label follows the guidelines of the new Responsible Mohair Standard (RMS), closely aligned with the Responsible Wood Standard (see Ethical Wool).
We use only mohair produced on farms that respect the goats and the land they graze. “The RMS applies strong assurance systems to perform regular audits……and to track the material to the final product.”
Following the guidelines of 400-member Textile Exchange, Poppy Field the label adheres to the Content Claim Standard requirements and the farms are certified to the Animal Welfare and Land Management and Social Modules of the RMS.
